Valve Seat Castings We Make

This is a one-piece valve seat casting designed for flange mounting. Its inner diameter features a beveled surface with a special elliptical inclined track. It typically has a large diameter and relatively thin walls.

This valve seat casting typically appears in pairs, has a symmetrical ring shape, has a precisely curved concave profile in the sealing surface, and the inner ring has a distinctly curved, concave, mirror-like finish.

These valve seat castings are usually wedge-shaped and stepped, with a wide, perfectly flat sealing surface and a fine groove machined around their circumference; they usually have a slight tapered angle of 3° to 5°.
Why do you need valve seat castings made from 304/316L?

The passivation film on the stainless steel surface effectively protects the valve seat castings from corrosion by strong acids and other corrosive media, and the 316L grade significantly reduces the probability of intergranular corrosion and pitting corrosion.

The high toughness of stainless steel enables the valve seat castings to withstand erosion by high-pressure internal fluid flow. Because of its high toughness, it could undergo slight deformation under pressure, resulting in a tighter seal against the valve casting.

The main difference between them is that 316 stainless steel contains 2%-3% molybdenum, which gives it greater resistance to pitting corrosion than 304 stainless steel. 316L is an ultra-low-carbon variant of 316; it does not exhibit carbide precipitation at high temperatures, thereby reducing the possibility of corrosion in valve seat castings made from it.
