Pump Wear Ring Casting Foundry in China

As a professional silica sol lost-wax investment casting foundry in China, we provide OEM custom and CNC-machined investment-cast pump wear rings made of 304/316L (CF8/CF3M) stainless steel, offering high precision, dimensional accuracy, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. Over the past 27 years, we have established long-term, stable partnerships with numerous international clients, achieving an annual output value of $8 million.

We have also helped numerous clients resolve pump wear ring issues. For example, by optimizing the gating system, we prevent porosity, shrinkage, and other internal defects in pump wear rings at the source, preventing leaks and cavitation and ensuring normal pump operation. We also use specialized soft jaws in CNC turning to prevent pump wear rings from deforming when clamped in a three-jaw chuck, thereby significantly reducing the risk of efficiency reduction due to uneven clearances and deformation.

If you face similar challenges or want to optimize your stainless steel pump wear rings, contact us today to discuss your custom requirements.

Why do you need pump wear rings made from 304/316L stainless steel?

Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion Resistance

The passivation film on the surface of stainless steel pump wear rings enables them to withstand corrosive media. 316L pump wear rings can even resist pitting corrosion, preventing clearance increase and cracking.

Erosion Resistance
Erosion Resistance

Pump wear rings made of 304 and 316L have excellent work-hardening properties. So the surface could remain highly stable under high-speed fluid erosion and collisions with tiny particles, avoiding wear from eroded grooves.

high toughness
High Toughness

Stainless steel pump wear rings have excellent ductility and toughness, which avoid brittle fracture under mechanical vibration, fluid erosion, or other extreme conditions, thereby preventing debris from damaging the impeller.

Thermal Stability
Thermal Stability

Through standard solution annealing to reduce residual stress, the thermal stability of pump wear rings made of 304/316L could be improved, ensuring structural integrity and preventing high-temperature deformation and galling.

Standard Material Control

The corrosion resistance of stainless steel pump wear rings is highly dependent on the accuracy of their chemical composition. If the chemical composition does not meet the required standards, the pump wear rings are highly susceptible to corrosion and cracking during operation. We use spectrometric analysis to ensure that the chemical composition of our 304 and 316 grades meets ASTM A351 requirements, including maintaining carbon content below 0.03% and molybdenum content between 2% and 3% in 316L pump wear rings. This can help you control the corrosion resistance of the castings at the source, thereby avoiding seizing or brittle fracture,  extending service life and reducing maintenance costs.

Standard Material Control
Precision Geometric Control

Precision Geometric Control

As thin-walled ring components, pump wear rings are prone to deformation during the investment casting process, which can prevent them from being properly installed into the pump casting. We eliminate this deformation and ensure high dimensional accuracy of our pump wear rings through many methods, including optimizing the gate during pattern assembly and using specialized anti-deformation fixtures during machining. Moreover, we use HEXAGON coordinate measuring machines to ensure the coaxiality and roundness tolerances of pump wear rings are maintained within 0.01–0.02 mm. Precise dimensional control ensures your pump wear rings have uniform clearance compatible with the pump casting, eliminating internal leakage and galling, extending service life and improving the pump’s efficiency.

Excellent Quality Assurance

As high-precision components, even the slightest internal defect in pump wear rings can cause your pump system to shut down. Our stainless steel pump wear rings eliminate casting shrinkage and porosity at the source by optimizing the gating system. After casting, we also perform pickling, passivation, and polishing to ensure the pump wear rings have a dense, uniform passivation layer and a high surface finish. Before shipping, all pump wear rings also undergo non-destructive testing, including liquid penetrant testing and X-ray inspection, to ensure no pores, shrinkage voids, or cracks are beneath the surface. Our quality assurance can help you avoid significant downtime losses caused by cracks or seizures from substandard pump wear rings.

Your Reliable Manufacturing Partner for Pump Wear Rings

With 27 years of precision investment casting experience, 18 years of precision CNC machining experience, and 11 years of mold development experience, we have comprehensive casting capabilities, including customizing pump wear rings to your specific designs, such as thin-walled rings, complex anti-galling grooves, and labyrinth design.

Moreover, as a one-stop foundry, we can provide you with high-quality pump wear rings. With the near-net-shape properties of silica sol investment casting, we can cast complex pump wear ring structures in a single casting, including labyrinth sealing grooves and irregularly shaped structures, requiring only minimal machining and significantly reducing lead times.

Furthermore, through polishing, pickling, and passivation, we can achieve a surface roughness of Ra 3.2–6.3 μm and dimensional accuracy of CT4–CT6 for your stainless steel pump wear rings, significantly reducing fluid friction resistance and improving the pump’s operating efficiency. In addition, because the smooth surface is free of microscopic pits, it greatly reduces the possibility of cavitation and pitting in the pump wear rings under high-speed fluid erosion.

Diverse Applications for Stainless Steel Pump Wear Rings

Marine Industry
Marine Industry

Marine environments contain chloride ions; pump wear rings made of ordinary carbon steel can corrode rapidly. Our 316L pump wear rings offer exceptional resistance to chloride-ion pitting corrosion and inherent resistance to water erosion, effectively withstanding high-pressure water flow, making them less prone to cracking.

Chemical Industry
Chemical Industry

With exceptional resistance to pitting corrosion, our 316L pump wear rings can operate normally in chemical environments. Furthermore, our pump wear rings have exceptional toughness, preventing them from fracturing under the high-frequency vibrations of chemical industry pumps and avoiding debris from galling the pump system.

Food Industry
Food Industry

Castings used in the food industry must be free of contamination. With a passivation film on the surface,  our stainless steel pump wear rings prevent the leaching of iron ions from acidic food, thereby avoiding contamination. Furthermore, their corrosion resistance withstands frequent cleaning with acidic and alkaline solutions.

Cryogenic Industry
Cryogenic Industry

Pump wear rings used in the cryogenic industry must operate at extremely low temperatures. Pump wear rings made of ordinary carbon steel are prone to cold brittleness and fracture. Our stainless steel pump wear rings maintain high toughness even at -196 ℃; they will not shrink or seize, and the pump will not fracture suddenly.
