Why do you need pump motor housings made from 304/316L stainless steel?

The passivation film on the stainless steel surface effectively protects the pump motor housing from corrosive media, and the 316L grade significantly reduces the probability of intergranular corrosion and pitting corrosion. Effectively prevents rust on the pump motor housing.

Standard Material Control
Changes in the composition of stainless steel directly affect the properties of pump motor housings. The main difference between them is that 316 stainless steel contains 2%-3% molybdenum, which gives the 316 pump motor housing greater resistance to pitting corrosion than 304. 316L is an ultra-low-carbon variant of 316; it does not exhibit carbide precipitation at high temperatures, thereby reducing the possibility of corrosion in a pump motor housing made from it and ensuring maximum sealing and durability during long-term operation.
