Pump Cover Casting Foundry in China
As a professional silica sol lost-wax investment casting foundry in China, we are committed to providing you with OEM custom and CNC-machined investment-cast pump cover castings made of 304/316L (CF8/CF3M) stainless steel, offering high precision, high surface dimensional accuracy, good airtightness, and corrosion resistance. Over the past 27 years, we have established long-term, stable partnerships with numerous international clients, achieving an annual output value of $8 million.
We have also helped numerous clients resolve pump cover issues. For example, by optimizing the gating system, we prevent porosity, shrinkage, and other internal defects in the pump cover castings at the source. We also use specialized non-destructive testing, airtightness testing, and standard solution heat treatment to ensure that the pump cover castings have no internal defects, no risk of intergranular corrosion, and can withstand fluid erosion in highly corrosive operating environments without causing media leakage.
If you are facing similar challenges or looking to optimize your stainless steel pump cover castings, contact us today to discuss your custom requirements.
Pump Cover Castings We Make

Features high dimensional accuracy and the ability to withstand high-pressure water-hammer impacts.

Features a high-density structure with no dead zones on the sealing surface and corrosion resistance.

Features complex flow channels and bearing housings in a single cast, eliminating welding risks.
Why do you need pump cover castings made from 304/316L stainless steel?

The passivation film on the surface of stainless steel pump cover castings enables it to withstand corrosive media. 316L pump cover castings can even resist pitting corrosion, preventing cracking.

Stainless steel pump cover castings have extremely high toughness. When subjected to sudden water-hammer impacts or pipeline vibrations, they can absorb dynamic energy without brittle fracture.

When pump cover castings operate above 400°C, 316L pump cover castings exhibit exceptional high-temperature creep resistance and yield strength, ensuring they will not deform at high temperatures.

The crystalline structure inside stainless steel pump cover castings enables them to maintain high impact toughness even at -196°C, preventing low-temperature brittle fracture under frequent impact.
Standard Material Control
Changes in the composition of stainless steel directly affect the properties of pump cover castings. For example, carbon and molybdenum content are key to the resistance of 316L pump cover castings to intergranular and pitting corrosion. Through spectrometric analysis, we can control the carbon content in 316L to ≤0.03%, and the molybdenum content to 2% and 3%, ensuring the material meets the standard. This guarantees that 316L pump cover castings maintain exceptional corrosion resistance not only after welding but also in seawater or strong acids, effectively preventing media leakage due to substandard material quality.

Precision Geometric Control
Stainless steel pump cover castings are critical sealing components within the pump body. If the coaxiality of the internal sealing surfaces is deviated, high-pressure media leakage will occur due to uneven stress distribution. Using HEXAGON coordinate measuring machines, we can control coaxiality within 0.01–0.03 mm, ensuring the sealing surface fits the pump body casting and does not tilt under impact, thereby effectively preventing leaks. In addition to coaxiality, we will measure flatness and roundness to ensure that your pump cover castings meet dimensional standards and reduce abnormal wear on mechanical seals and bearings, extending their service life.
Excellent Quality Assurance
Quality assurance is crucial to ensure that the stainless steel pump cover castings will not crack or leak during operation. We conduct rigorous quality inspections on every batch of pump cover castings, including 100% air tightness testing, hydraulic pressure testing, and non-destructive testing. This ensures that there is no porosity or cracks on the surfaces and interiors of the pump cover castings, and verifies that the castings have excellent airtightness under high pressure, minimizing leakage risk. These quality inspections ensure that your pump cover castings have a long service life even under extreme operating conditions, thereby reducing your maintenance costs.

Diverse Applications for Stainless Steel Pump Cover Castings

Pump cover castings in the chemical industry must operate in highly corrosive environments and are highly susceptible to corrosion cracking. Our stainless steel pump cover castings have excellent corrosion resistance, greatly preventing corrosion cracks and leaks at the sealing flange and O-ring grooves under thermal stresses.

In marine environments, pump cover castings are subjected to constant pitting corrosion and mechanical vibrations, making them highly prone to leaks. Our 316L pump cover castings have exceptional pitting corrosion resistance and high dimensional accuracy through CMM, ensuring there are no leaks at the shaft seal and sealing surfaces.

Pump cover castings for the food industry must maintain an extremely high level of purity. Our stainless steel pump cover castings feature exceptional surface precision and are highly resistant to bacterial growth. Furthermore, the passivation layer on the surface effectively prevents leaching of iron ions that could contaminate the food.

Pump cover castings made of ordinary metals exhibit cold brittleness at low temperatures and are highly prone to fracture. But the stable internal structure of our stainless steel pump cover castings ensures that they maintain extremely high impact toughness even when operating at -196°C, minimizing the risk of internal medium leakage.
Your Reliable Manufacturing Partner in China

The main difference is chemical content under ASTM A351 / EN 10213 standards, which results in differences in performance. 316L stainless steel pump cover castings feature low carbon ≤0.03% and contain 2%–3% molybdenum, which prevents pitting corrosion in O-ring grooves and flange sealing surfaces when exposed to seawater. In contrast, 304 stainless steel pump cover castings do not contain molybdenum and are less resistant to pitting corrosion; however, they offer excellent density and burst strength in mildly corrosive environments. You can select the appropriate material based on your operating environment.
In addition to 100% airtightness and hydrostatic pressure testing, we can provide non-destructive testing services, including penetrant testing for surface cracks and X-ray testing for internal density, to ensure your pump cover castings are free of casting defects and have excellent airtightness.
Yes, every batch of our stainless steel pump cover castings undergoes solution treatment; every treatment is performed at a high temperature of 1050°C–1150°C to ensure that residual internal stresses are eliminated, restore the castings’ corrosion resistance, and ensure that the stainless steel pump cover castings have sufficient toughness so they will not fracture suddenly under impact.
Yes, we offer 3D prototyping services for efficient small-batch customization of stainless steel pump cover castings, with delivery within 7–10 days.
We use a one-stop customization service, from mold design and fabrication to CNC machining. With this integrated service, the lead time for pump cover castings is typically 45 days.
