Non-Destructive Testing Process

During the process of impeller casting, casting shrinkage will occur, which can result in internal shrinkage cavities invisible to the naked eye. These have a significant impact on the impeller. Therefore, after casting is completed, we employ non- destructuive testing like X-ray inspection to ensure that every impeller casting is free of any internal porosity or shrinkage cavities without damaging the casting.

Q1. What is the minimum blade thickness you can cast for a stainless steel impeller?

Generally speaking, the minimum wall thickness for cast stainless steel impellers can range from 1.5 to 2.0 millimeters (0.060 to 0.080 inches), depending on the impeller’s diameter and the geometry of the blades. If you want to achieve thinner wall thicknesses, we could design a special mold for you.  

Q2. Do you accept small-batch custom orders?

Yes, we offer 3D prototyping services to provide efficient small-batch customization, with delivery within 7–10 days.

Q3. In addition to casting impellers, do you also offer finishing and dynamic balancing testing?

Yes, we provide one-stop services covering all aspects, including mold development, CNC machining, dynamic balancing testing, surface treatment, and so on. Through milling on a dynamic balancing machine, the impeller’s imbalance is strictly controlled to ISO 1940 G6.3 or even G2.5 levels, ensuring smooth operation during service.

Q4. I only have a worn-out old sample part and no drawings. Can you still make it?

Yes, we can. By combining 3D scanning technology with a HEXAGON Coordinate Measuring Machine, we can perfectly replicate the model and optimize it according to your requirements.

Q5. The blades of the impeller are very thin. How do you ensure safe transportation?

To prevent damage, each impeller casting is secured in custom foam within divided slots, guaranteeing it arrives in perfect condition.
