Flange Casting Foundry in China

As a professional flange investment casting foundry in China, we are committed to providing you with custom, fully machined flange castings made of 304/316L (CF8/CF3M) stainless steel that offer high precision, corrosion resistance, high-pressure resistance, and complex structures. Over the past 27 years, we have established long-term, stable partnerships with nine companies, achieving an annual output value of $8 million.

We have also helped numerous clients resolve flange casting-related issues. Through a high-precision investment casting process, we provide you with flange castings with complex structures, such as special-shaped fixed flange castings with elbows. In addition, we perform 100% airtightness testing on your components to ensure that the sealing surfaces and bolt-hole walls are completely leak-free.

Flange Castings We Make

Slip-On Flange Casting
Slip-On Flange Casting

Features a short neck; primarily used for fluid piping in low-pressure applications with relatively low stress.

Welding Neck Flange Casting
Welding Neck Flange Casting

Features a tapered, long neck with a high protrusion, primarily used in high-pressure operating conditions.

Blind Flange Casting
Blind Flange Casting

It has no through-hole in the middle and is used to seal the end of a pipe or shut off the flow of a medium.

Threaded Flange Casting
Threaded Flange Casting

The inner bore is internally threaded and is used in low-pressure piping systems containing flammable gases.

Lap Joint Flange Casting

The flange itself is not permanently secured and is used in special systems that require frequent disassembly.

Why do you need flange castings made from 304/316L?

Corrosion Resistance
Corrosion Resistance

The passivation film on the stainless steel surface effectively protects the flange castings from corrosion by strong acids and other corrosive media, and the 316L grade significantly reduces the probability of intergranular corrosion and pitting corrosion.

Excellent Weldability
Excellent Weldability

Flange Castings typically need to be welded to pipe fittings. The ultra-low-carbon properties of flange castings made of 316L prevent the precipitation of chromium carbide during welding, thereby reducing the risk of intergranular corrosion.

high toughness
High Toughness

Stainless Steel possesses extremely high ductility and toughness, which means that flange castings made from it will undergo minimal deformation when subjected to internal fluid expansion pressure and external bolt shear stress, without suffering brittle fracture.

Exceptional temperature resistance
Exceptional temperature resistance

Flange Castings made of 304/316L offer exceptional temperature adaptability. Whether at -196°C or 600°C, they ensure that flanges maintain high tensile strength and pressure-bearing capacity, and keep the sealing surfaces from warping.

Standard Material Control

Changes in the composition of stainless steel directly affect the properties of castings, especially flange castings made from 316L. If the carbon and molybdenum do not meet the standards, it may lead to intergranular and pitting corrosion in flange castings. However, we use a spectrometer to control the carbon content below 0.03% and the molybdenum content at 2%-3%, ensuring that the sealing surface of flange castings will not rust.

HEXAGON Coordinate Measuring Machine

Precision Geometric Control

Flange castings must form a perfect seal with pipe castings, so precise dimensional control is critical. We use HEXAGON coordinate measuring machines to ensure zero deviation in the pitch circle diameter and positional accuracy of the flange bolt holes, while ensuring the coaxiality of the flange’s inner cavity and outer circumference, resulting in a perfectly uniform wall thickness that easily elevates the flange’s pressure-containing capability.

Perfect Surface Treatment

Surface treatment is a critical process that determines the corrosion resistance of flange castings. We offer standard shot blasting, pickling and passivation, and polishing processes to ensure that surface impurities and microscopic burrs on the sealing surfaces and in the internal cavities are thoroughly removed. This process reforms a passivation film, preventing iron ions from contaminating the castings and ensuring their corrosion resistance.

3D prototyping

Rapid Prototyping

Flange castings are critical assembly components with very little tolerance for error. If deviations in the design of the flange’s bolt holes are discovered after casting is complete, it could result in significant losses for you. We offer 3D technology, allowing you to use prototypes to test for perfect compatibility with your existing mechanical systems and to verify the flange casting’s sealing performance and pressure resistance, thereby reducing your losses.

Certified to Meet Global Standards for High-Pressure Equipment

Your Reliable Manufacturing Partner for Flange Casting

With 27 years of precision investment casting experience, 18 years of precision CNC machining experience, and 11 years of mold development experience, we have full casting capabilities, including customizing flange castings to your specific designs, including flanges with special cavities, reinforcing ribs, or special-shaped fixed flange castings.

Moreover, as a one-stop foundry, we can provide you with high-quality flange castings. During casting, we will reduce subsurface porosity by optimizing the gating system. Once the castings are complete, we perform 100% airtightness testing and non-destructive testing on the flange castings to ensure there is no shrinkage or porosity inside the flange neck or the transition zone where the flange is welded to the pipe.

Diverse Applications for Stainless Steel Flange Castings

Marine Engineering
Marine Engineering

The chloride ions in the ocean cause flange castings made of ordinary carbon steel to easily form pitting corrosion. In contrast, our flange castings, made of 316L, offer exceptional resistance to pitting corrosion. This prevents some microscopic crevices from corrosion, such as flange sealing surfaces and bolt holes, which are highly prone to seawater accumulation.

Chemical Industry
Chemical Industry

Flange castings are used to connect pump castings and piping systems, which are exposed to corrosive and high-temperature conditions in the chemical industry. Our stainless steel flange castings, particularly made of 316L, have a passivation layer on their surfaces that effectively resists corrosion from organic acids, industrial chemicals, and other corrosive media.

Food Industry
Food Industry

The food industry imposes high hygiene standards on flange castings. Compared to carbon steel, which can leach iron ions that contaminate food, our stainless steel flange castings. Their chemical inertness prevents them from reacting with food, and the smooth surface achieved by investment casting makes it difficult for food residue to accumulate, ensuring food purity.

Automotive Industry
Automotive Industry

Flange castings are primarily used in exhaust pipe connections, where they must withstand high pressure, severe vibrations, and thermal cycling. Our stainless steel flange castings offer exceptional high-temperature stability after solution heat treatment; their internal structure is highly stable, enabling them to withstand thermal fatigue caused by thermal cycling.

Why Choose Pingheng Machinery for Your Stainless Steel Casting Project

  • The flange castings supplied by the foundry we used to cooperate with always had misaligned bolt holes, which meant we had to wait, significantly delaying our system operation. Until we started working with Pingheng Machinery, we found their stainless steel flange castings had no dimensional errors and fit our mechanical system perfectly. I believe we will continue to work with them.

                                                                                                   ——Marcus Vance, Chief Quality Engineer

In the past, when we collaborated with other factories, we would simply receive a batch of castings, which did not allow us to know the quality. However, since we started working with Pingheng Machinery, they have provided us with air-tightness and non-destructive testing reports every time they deliver flange castings, which gives us complete confidence in the quality of these castings.

Q1. What is the difference between 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel?

They are all austenitic stainless steels. The main difference between them is that 316 stainless steel contains 2%-3% molybdenum, which gives it greater resistance to pitting corrosion than 304 stainless steel. 316L is an ultra-low-carbon variant of 316; it does not exhibit carbide precipitation at high temperatures, thereby reducing the possibility of corrosion in flange castings made from it.
